Is this really free?
Yes. No account, no payment, no upsell. The service is supported as a utility.
Can I send email FROM a PappuMail address?
No — PappuMail is receive-only. It accepts incoming messages so you can read confirmation codes, signup links, etc.
What's the access token for?
It proves you own the inbox. Anyone with the token can read messages, so don't share it. We only store a hash, so if you lose it we cannot recover it.
How long does an inbox last?
By default 7 days of inactivity. Every time you (or your browser) opens the inbox, the timer resets.
Will my messages stay if I close the browser?
Yes, until the inbox expires. Your browser remembers the access token in local storage so it picks up where you left off.
Are messages encrypted?
Email is fundamentally cleartext. Mail is delivered over TLS where the sender supports it, and stored on our database. Don't use PappuMail for sensitive information.
Can I use a custom domain?
The admin can add additional domains. Set MX records to forward mail into our inbound webhook and the address becomes available to users.
